Spring Into Action Spring Break Mission 2010

Nuevo Progresso, Mexico

March 13 – 19, 2010

Here’s a slide show from last year’s mission to La Posta, Mexico. A team of 9 youth and adults from First UMC-Coppell joined a group of 140 from McFarlin UMC in Norman, OK for this incredible experience. Together we built 10 casitas during spring break 2009.

Mission work in Rio Bravo & Nuevo Progreso, Mexico

Housing at St. Mark United Methodist Church McAllen, Texas

Who: Students in grades 8 – 12 & college, and adults. You don’t need to be a First UMC member!

What: Teams will build casitas (small, cement-block houses), or work on a church or school.

Cost: is $350 if signed up before February 7. Cost increases to $450 on February 8.  Cost includes transportation, housing, most meals, and supplies. 

Forms: A packet of forms needs to be completed. Find them in the Student Ministries office, the main church office or download here: Mexico Mission Team forms. 

Team members under the age of 19 do not need a Passport (although they are preferred)! Original Birth Certificate OR original Social Security Card is enough. Team members 19 and over will need a current passport.

Safety
